it feels a little stupid to ask this, but i'm scared that the prolonged vibration could desensitize the colon. granted i've only carried out it twice, the first time for a few minutes and the second, last night, for about five-10 minutes. i can't feel anything distinct, but i'm still worried.

As long as you practice clean safe play, you'll be fine. Constantly use a lot of lube, take it slow, and be sure to correctly clean your toys when you are done. Never put anything in there that has a chance of obtaining lost. Be sure it often has a base, a cord or some other means of retrieving it!
