What is an anal gland?? why you do you have to express anal glands?? do labradors or golden retrievers anal glands have to be expressed?? what about toy poodles?? do smaller dogs have to get their anal glands expressed a lot more usually?? or massive dogs?? thanks!!

I think you hav to express them simply because there is some sort of disgusting create up(I did it cuz my dog was often biting and licking is anus which was genuinely disgusting). as long as your dog doesn't smell like po and he does not smell like poo then you may never ever have to do it.
My dog got the tiny "condition" from having a lot of diahrea. If they have dryer poos then the poo cleans the oil off of the gland, if the have diahrea then this does not happen and thats why my dog required the express thing.
